The oxygen sensor on your Saturn SL monitors the Saturn's exhaust. Raise the Saturn SL onto jack stands. To do this, jack up on the front jack point behind the radiator and place a jack stand under each of the jack stand points under the driver and passenger side doors.MVP Key Programmer These points are pinch welds and are part of the unibody construction of the SL. Then, lower the vehicle onto the stands.
Climb under the vehicle and disconnect the lead wires from the oxygen sensor which is located near the catalytic converter--the egg-shaped component inline with the exhaust) Depending on your model year, you may have one or two sensors. Unbolt the oxygen sensor or sensors using an O2 sensor socket and socket wrench.
Remove the oxygen sensor from the exhaust and insert a new oxygen sensor.Digiprog III Thread and tighten the new sensor using an O2 sensor socket and socket wrench.
Reconnect the electrical leads to the sensor and lower the Saturn to the ground.
There are two methods for resetting the "service engine soon" light on a Nissan Altima. One method, which is the most convenient, is to use a code scanner, which you can purchase at any auto parts store.Digiprog III The code scanner will display the codes automatically and has an accompanying code sheet. There is also a manual way to display the codes and reset the computer -- you need to access a code sheet the decipher the codes. The trouble codes must be repaired prior to resetting the computer, because the light will just come back on as long as it sees the failure.
Pulling The Codes With a Code Scanner
Plug the code scanner's plug in the on board diagnostics port under the dash, to the left of the steering column. Turn the key to the "On" position, without starting the car.
Press the "Read" key on the scanner, and it will begin to display all the codes. Make a note of the codes for cross-reference. UPA USB Programmer All codes are formatted, so they display a letter followed by four numbers.
Cross-reference the codes with the code sheet. This can be found on-line or at an auto parts store. Repair all faults represented by the codes.
Turn the ignition key to the "On" position, without starting the car. Press the "Erase" key to erase the codes and reset the computer.
Pulling The Codes Without a Scanner
Turn the ignition key to the "On" position, without starting the engine. Wait three seconds. Depress and release the gas pedal five times in five seconds, then let the pedal up. Count seven seconds and then depress the gas pedal and hold it down for 10 seconds. Vagcom 15.7 As soon as the service engine soon light starts flashing trouble codes, let the pedal up.
Make a note of all the codes by counting the flashes. For example, if the light will flash four times in a row and pause for a second and begin flashing again, the first four flashes stand for the number 4; it will then proceed to the next number.
Cross-reference these number codes with a code sheet. Repair all the faults before resetting the computer.
The Suzuki version of the Chevy Tracker, the Vitara was sold in the North American market in Latin American countries. Because the vehicle features version two of the on-board diagnostics, which was implemented in 1996 by all vehicle manufacturers,HEX USB 15.7 it has a self-learning computer that monitors such things as idle and acceleration cycles.
Open the hood on your Vitara. Loosen the black wired negative battery terminal clamp with a metric wrench enough to be able to wiggle the clamp free from the negative battery post.VXDIAG VCX NANO
Turn the interior light switch to the "On" position and leave the vehicle for five to 10 minutes. Another way to discharge stored current in the Vitara's computer is to press on the horn while the battery is disconnected. The horn will not sound off since the battery is not connected,Digiprog III but it will drive the stored energy from the capacitor, as will turning on the headlight switch.
Reconnect the negative battery terminal clamp and tighten it with the metric wrench. Start the engine of the Vitara and test drive it, preferably on low-traffic roads since there will be some performance problems until the computer completes the relearn of its adaptive strategy.

This freeware program works with most cars and provides access to information stored in the car's computer, including the ability to flash a new image onto the computer. Install this program on a laptop computer if possible so you may take it to your car.
Connect your computer to the car's OBD-II port with an OpenPort cable. Be sure to obtain the OpenPort cable designed for your make of car.VXDIAG VCX NANO This cable allows your laptop to connect via USB to your car's computer.
Open EcuFlash and click on the folder icon at the top of the screen. Choose the new computer image you wish to flash to your car's ECU.

Ever since the the release of Saab's Trionic engine management system in the early '90s Saab has been know for its innovative computer-powered Engine Control Unit (ECU). AutoLink AL301Saab uses a similar Trionic 5 system in its base line 9-5 and Trionic 7 in its flag ship 9-5 Aero model.
What many people don't know is that these ECUs come from the factory programed for "the average Joe." Once you know where to locate the ECU, driving enthusiasts can swap out or reprogram these computers with a few simple tools to see gains in horsepower, torque, and fuel efficiency.
Preparation
Set the hand break, remove the key from the ignition switch, and open the hood.
Disconnect the negative battery lead from the battery terminal using the adjustable wrench.Launch iCarScan VCIUsually this lead is black. This will prevent any possibility of shock or shorting during the project.
Clear away any debris that has collected in the plastic run-off cover located at the bottom of your windshield.
Locating the ECU
Remove the screws that hold the plastic run-off cover and rubber seal in place with the Phillips head screwdriver.
Lift up the plastic run off cover. It does not have to be completely removed. This saves you from needing to remove the windshield wipers and is usually enough space to access the ECU.KD900 Remote Maker This will expose the ECU protective cover, which is oval shaped and has a hose containing wires running from it.
Loosen and remove the 10-mm nuts holding the plastic protective cover in place with the 10-mm socket wrench and extender. Lift up the plastic protective casing to expose the ECU and wiring.
You have now located the ECU. To remove the ECU, lift the black handle to disconnect the wiring connector, undo the two 10-mm nuts on either side and lift out the silver box.
Follow these steps in reverse order to replace the ECU and plastic covering.
You can reset the ECU code on your Honda right from your home garage, saving yourself time and money. The ECU generates codes pertaining to the Electronic Control Unit, which governs the engine.Honda HDS When the vehicle's computer detects an error, it illuminates it on the vehicle's instrument panel in the form of a "Check Engine" light.
In order to properly clear this code and reset it, you will need an OBD scan tool. This can be purchased online or from your local auto parts retailer
Find the OBD port just to the left of your Honda's fuse panel.Digiprog III The fuse panel can be found on the driver's side, underneath the steering column.
Plug the OBD scan tool into the OBD port.
Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the "II" position. Wait for the scan tool to retrieve the codes from the ECU.
Select the "Delete Codes" command or something similar.MB SD Connect 5 Wait while the scan tool deletes the codes and resets the computer.
Unplug the scan tool and turn on your Honda's engine. Verify that all warning and service lights have shut off of the instrument panel.
