2007 E550 4matic has lots errors on ESP ABS SRS speedtronic etc. Which Car Diagnostic Tool to use and how to troubleshoot? Go on reading below parts.

Errors:

Over the last few weeks I’ve been getting a random “esp inoperative” warning. It doesn’t come on every time I drive the car and it’s usually off after restart.

Last night, I got a “right side low beam out”. Car has an aftermarket hid kit that’s been installed for about a year or so. I replaced the ballast with a spare this morning and it worked.

Took a 300 mile trip today. After about 150 miles the esp inop message popped up. Didn’t think much of it. Drove another hour and got a warning that the right side low beam was out again. Shortly after I stopped for gas and upon restarting car, I got all kinds of errors. Esp, abs, srs, speedtronic, etc.

I turned the car off and went inside the store at the gas station. When I got back in the car, it wouldn’t start. Nothing happened when turning key. No crank etc. after 5-10 mins it did start. I headed back on the road, and noticed it wasn’t shifting right. From a stop it was revving a lot to get going. All the warning lights were still on, the speedometer needle was bouncing around and the nav was (and still) stuck about 50 miles back from where I am now. Once on the highway it ran fine.

I was able to get my bt obd2 scanner and torque working at one point but it no longer does. It showed 14 codes at that time but I wasn’t able to jot them down.

At this point, the car is home. It starts every time but all the same warnings flash and as soon as it starts, the cooling fan is on full blast and won’t go off. At one point I also got a red battery icon. The battery is about 6 months old. It’s an AGM from advanced auto. I’ve since put it on a charger and fully charged it and all the same issues persist.

I thought this was an alternator or voltage regulator but since it’s charged now and having the same problem I’m not sure. Maybe an ecu issue but hoping someone has some ideas on how to proceed before towing to dealer.

Guide / Experience:

Check the voltage when the car is running. You can switch to the voltage display by switching the cluster to temperature and then hitting the odometer reset button three times with the ignition on, but without the engine running. Then once you start it, it should tell you the voltage. All those errors sound like a low voltage problem. You also have a battery control module. Search the old threads about that one. Usually voltage problems are either alternator, voltage regulator or battery control module. Your esp inoperative is a separate problem. Probably the steering angle sensor. If you search the threads you’ll find that too, there’s also a youtube video on how to replace it. You should get a real scanner that can do MB codes. I like to use a cheap Launch  x431 easydiag plus 2.0.

It’s about $50 on  www.fobdii.com. Make sure you get the plus version which comes with software for 2 vehicle manufacturer, there are cheaper versions, but it doesn’t come with the 2 free vehicle manufacturer software and it’s another $50 to add a vehicle manufacturer. Worked to tell me I had a bad steering angle sensor (it can also be a few other things like a wheel speed sensor, brake light switch or yaw sensor).

Finally:

Car ended up going to the dealer. They’re telling me the central gateway is/was wet and showing signs of corrosion and requires replacing. Will be a few days before that’s done. They don’t know if that is everything it will need at this point but they tell me they can’t diagnose further until that is replaced.. Looking at about $850 for this repair.

It went there for diagnostic since my friends shop was unable to read from OBD with snap-on (normally he can). Dealer was unable to connect with MB Star SD C4 . When they told me it was the CG, I decided to let them do this repair. If they’d told me it was an alternator and voltage regulator, I’d have had them replaced elsewhere or done it myself. When I brought it to the dealer, I was certain that replacing either of those items wasn’t going to restore all the cars systems or dash readouts or OBD. My guess was a bad alt or VR took out the ECU.

Here is the customer solution to get ISN from BMW CAS3+ encrypted file with Xhorse VVDI2 key programmer for all keys lost.

Tool required:

VVDI Prog or R270 (Read CAS3+ encrypted file)

VVDI2 BMW with latest software version (read ISN)

Tango key programmer (program key)

 

Guide:

Open VVDI2 software, select Auto Detect

Select Key Learn tab-> File Make Key

Select CAS3+ (0L15Y,0M23S)

Click Load EEPROM dump file

upload dump read by VVDI programmer

VVDI2 will display vehicle information, VIN, KM, key cutting code etc

Select Key position: KeyID1

Click on Make Dealer Key

Select “Use try start method to start engine, no need working key or original dump file”, click on Next

VVDI2 prompts lost all working key you will gave 64 attempts, do you want to continue, click on YES

Do you already make new key at key 1?
If already made new key (Already saved new EEPROM dump), press YES

Please use current key to start the engine, if start success press YES, else No
If cannot start engine, please take out the key and insert to programmer before press NO
Is the engine start now?

Click Yes to continue

Then VVDI2 BMW will display CAS3+ ISN, copy the ISN code

Open Tango transponder key programmer software

Select Car Model->BMW->Cars->CAS 1-3

Click on upload dump icon to load the eeprom dump

To decrypt data the valid key is necessary or ECU dump

Press OK

Select having a key, DME dump or DME ISN. In this situation, we select “I have DME ISN”

Tick OK

Press OK

BMW FEM/BDC function is not default included in CGDI Prog BMW MSV80 key programmer ! If your device only supports BMW CAS1,CAS2,CAS3 CAS4 /CAS 4+ , but you need FEM/BDC  function, CGDI FEM/BDC authorization.
 

First you should get the CGDI Prog software activated.

Open CGDI software, select FEM/BDC Key Match

If CGDI Prompts “Feature is unauthorized”, it means the function is not yet activated. Click OK to continue

Select “Authorize”

Copy the S/N code to engineer, please stay on this interface

We will send you the authorization code.  Paste the code and click on “Authorize”

Authorize successful.

restart software,select“FEM/BDC Key Match”,click”enter”

Part 1: 5 steps to update CGDI Prog Firmware

Step 1. Connect CGDI Pro device to the computer, open CGDI software.

 

Step 2. Click on “Setting” and then “Upgrade the firmware”, waiting.

Step 4. CGDI programmer firmware update successfully, again click on “Upgrade the firmware”.

program Peugeot 308 2015 remote key via OBD with SKP1000 key programmer, and read the pin code with Xhorse VVDI2 tool.

Part 1: get the Peugeot 308 pin code before entering the immobilizer system.

To program Peugeot 308 remote key, it requires pin code as the same as Citroen.

The remote frequency is 433MHZ, electronic 46 chip, after the chip programs successfully the remote control automatically generates.


The Peugeot 308 OBD location:


3 ways to get the get the Peugeot 308 pin code:

  1. Ask the 4S or the service center for help, or find out the pin code in the password card. Pros: reliable and not expensive.
  2. Calculate the pin code by reading out the Body ECU or BSI data. Cons: it is not easy and risky to remove the ECU and BSI.
  3. Use a machine to read the pin code. For example, this time I use Xhorse VVDI2 Key Programmer.

Open VVDI2, click on “Peugeot”

Click on “Read Pin code”, and get message “Turn on ignition”.

Read out pin code successfully and to program remote key.

Part 2: Program Peugeot 308 2015 remote key with SKP1000 key pro

Tap ” Peugeot” then “Via car model”, then “308”


Please choose: OBDII adapter and turn on the ignition, “Yes” to continue, “No” to back.

Input the pin code that read out by VVDI2 PSA tool

Close all car doors, close the trunk, click “Yes” to continue.

Turn off the ignition, then turn on the ignition, tap “Yes” to continue.

Program Peugeot 308 remote key successfully, if program the next key? tap “Yes” to continue and “NO” to back.

The remote control will automatically generate, if it doesn’t work, turn the ignition to the ON position, then press the remote control button for two times.
